About the Event

The Paulding County Genealogical Society is pleased to announce our upcoming Monthly Program, scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd, from 10am to 12pm at the Dallas Public Library. Our distinguished guest speaker will be the Reverend Johnny E. McBurrows who is the senior pastor of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, Georgia. Rev. McBurrows’ presentation will center around treasured stories of family, the importance of reunions, and a fascinating history that traces back to the 1600’s of Liberia, Africa. Growing up in south Georgia, Rev. McBurrows was called into ministry as a boy who followed this path with conviction. He was later ordained as a minister in the 1970’s and in March of 1980, Rev. McBurrows was called to become pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia.

Rev. McBurrows worked with MARTA for 28 years and acted as a Union Steward and President of their Local Union. Rev. McBurrows leads as Dean at The Carroll-Douglas Bible School and Dean at The South Georgia Academy for Ministers in Moultrie, Georgia. As a dedicated citizen of the community, Rev. McBurrows has also served as a member of the WellStar Paulding Regional Board, Chairman of the Paulding County Tax Assessors, Minister of the PC Board of Health Authority, President of the Paulding Ministerial Association, Chaplain for the PC Judicial Circuit, a board member of Helping Hands, and a past member of the PC Library Board.

The Paulding County Genealogical Society (PCGS) welcomes everyone to this free event. The PCGS hosts Monthly Programs throughout the year that encourage individuals to study their family connections and local history.
